Peratallada obtained the Charming Villages label in 2018, granted by the Catalan Tourist Board, after passing a demanding audit and validation process.
This label is only awarded to small towns that present a special appeal or beauty due to their combination of architectural, urban, heritage, environmental and tourist aspects and elements. A committee of experts from the Catalan Tourist Board, made up of renowned professionals from different fields, is responsible for validating that the towns meet the requirements to obtain this certification.
Currently only 14 Catalan towns have the Charming Villages label: Arties, Beget, Castellar de n'Hug, Calella de Palafrugell, Montsonís, Montclar, Pals, Prades, Santa Pau, Siurana, Taüll, Mura, Rupit and Peratallada
